FLL is the First Lego League. It challenges 4-8th graders to build, program, and run lego robots on a predetermined set of challenges set out by an FLL commission. Along with this, each team must do a research project based on a theme. You can get to the FLL website by clicking here
We are a team from Barnette Magnet School in Fairbanks, Alaska. We competed in early 2017 at our regional compitition at our school.
Our project was an ultrasonic device used to scare away moose. Moose are a problem for gardeners here becuase they eat things such as cabbages and squash. It used a speaker wired to the headphone jack of an ipod. when the ultrasonic sensor was triggered, a motor would rotate the tone generator and essentially "lock on" to the moose. This would work because moose have very good hearing because their antlers act like sattelite dishes, enhancing their hearing.
